Mohun Bagan confirmed Sayan Banerjee’s arrival through their official social media handles a few hours ago, ending days of speculation surrounding the transfer.
From East Bengal to Mohun Bagan
Sayan Banerjee had joined East Bengal during the 2023-24 season from Kalighat Milan Sangha. Under coach Bino George, the young footballer quickly impressed with his performances for the club’s youth side.
His development soon earned him opportunities with East Bengal’s senior team, where he started attracting attention with his performances in domestic competitions.
Although Sayan featured in the Calcutta Football League under Bino George last season, he did not receive regular opportunities with the senior squad. As a result, discussions regarding a possible transfer gained momentum ahead of the new season.
